Forum Members Get Fellow Enthusiast Rolling Again PDF Print E-mail

JohnWPB is an active member in many of the car computer developments that come out of mp3car.com, one of the largest online resources for in car computing. Unfortunately after a bad accident John is lucky to be alive and his carputer hobby (and wallet) have taken a large hit. Due to the overwhelming support John has shown the community, they are now giving back in the form of donations and John may soon have enough to replace his material losees.

Quickly after John's accident, his roommate decided to post a thread on the forum at www.mp3car.com to let people know what had happened to him and if they could keep him in their thoughts as he hopefully got better. After hearing about what had happened to one of their long time members, many of the users asked if there was any way they could help so a donation link was posted to try and get John back into the car computing scene and it is actually rising at quite a fast rate. As I write this it sits at $225 and rising. For users who cannot donate there's also a website John made with advertisements, these users are encouraged to click some of the links on that page to get John some extra money that way

Winter Is Here! PDF Print E-mail

It looks like winter is fully upon us and pretty much every member has winterized their car by switching over to summer wheels and removing any parts they don't want full of rock chips. That means EM2AB as a club will be slowing down for the season with outdoor meets resuming in the spring.

This doesn't mean we can't still have some social get togethers while the snow is down but photo meets and thread posts will almost surely slow right down. So from the EM2AB management team to the Civic community, thanks for a great 2008 and we'll return next year to show off our off season purchases and welcome our new members!

GM Chrysler Merge? PDF Print E-mail

The president of the Canadian Auto Workers union says the reported merger talks between General Motors and Chrysler will only make employees less secure, while Ontario's premier supports the move.

The New York Times has reported that talks between GM and Cerberus Capital Management, which owns Chrysler, were initiated last month. The negotiations are apparently uncertain to produce a deal. A Wall Street Journal article, however, said that merger talks have been suspended due to the financial-sector economic crisis, which sent international markets tumbling this week. On Thursday, GM lost 31 per cent of its value.
