Matt Groening's early dreams of being a cartoonist got off to a Rocky start. Groening, of course, went on to create a little show called The Simpsons, which kicks off its 20th season tonight on Global and Fox. But in a conversation with Sun Media, Groening acknowledged one of his biggest inspirations was The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show. "I definitely was influenced by Rocky & Bullwinkle," said Groening, 54. "I looked at Rocky & Bullwinkle as a kid, and I thought to myself, 'Here's a show that's well-written, it has great voices and it has great music. But the animation is not so good.' |

HETHEL, England — Lotus, which has a rich history of building racing cars and production sports cars, has contracted to tune an unexpected candidate for stage rallying and circuit racing: the Honda Civic Hybrid. Under the new partnership, Lotus Engineering is optimizing the hybrid's battery and motor system for racing. Part of that work includes revamping Honda's Integrated Motor Assist technology to produce more power and incorporate more aggressive regenerative braking. For racing duty, the Honda Civic Hybrid's 1.4-liter engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission. |

What other actor besides Paul Newman could convincingly play a character so likable, he could steal your girl and remain your best friend?
That was the magic Newman had on the big screen.
The legendary, Academy-Award winning actor with the riveting blue eyes died Friday after a long battle with cancer at his farmhouse near Westport, Conn. Family and close friends were at his side. He was 83. |

The Honda Civic facelift or minor model change in Honda speak has been unveiled in its home market of Japan so we now have an idea how our own facelifted Honda Civic will look like. This comes shortly after Honda revealed its American market Honda Civic. Next will be the European Civic hatch I suppose. True to its namesake, the changes are indeed minor which include a new front grille design which has a thicker chrome bar at the top and reshaped with sharper edges thus giving the grille a wider appearance, a new front bumper with wider air intakes to appear sportier, and new tail lamps with a larger internal lense (no longer round now). That’s about it for the exterior. Thankfully our model does not get the chrome bar between the tail lamps that the USDM version gets.
