JohnWPB is an active member in many of the car computer developments that come out of mp3car.com, one of the largest online resources for in car computing. Unfortunately after a bad accident John is lucky to be alive and his carputer hobby (and wallet) have taken a large hit. Due to the overwhelming support John has shown the community, they are now giving back in the form of donations and John may soon have enough to replace his material losees.

Quickly after John's accident, his roommate decided to post a thread on the forum at www.mp3car.com to let people know what had happened to him and if they could keep him in their thoughts as he hopefully got better. After hearing about what had happened to one of their long time members, many of the users asked if there was any way they could help so a donation link was posted to try and get John back into the car computing scene and it is actually rising at quite a fast rate. As I write this it sits at $225 and rising. For users who cannot donate there's also a website John made with advertisements, these users are encouraged to click some of the links on that page to get John some extra money that way

He doesn't remember much from the accident but after colliding with a semi at 40 miles per hour, both his body and his in car system have seen better days. With multiple fractured ribs, a bruised lunch and a concussion, John was quickly taken to the nearest hospital where he woke up with no recollection of the accident. After being released from hospital and seeing the damage to his car for the first time, he started surveying the scene to realize the computer system he had installed in his car had been destroyed just like that.

"It certainly could have been a lot worse by seeing just how bad the car was. The engine was jammed back so hard, that the firewall crushed my head unit and motorized LCD screen, and there was oil on the drivers floorboard inside the car."

"Everything is pretty much a total loss My motorized LCD in the dash was destroyed, as well as the computer when it flew out of the hatch back and smashed into the back seat at around 40 MPH. The serial temperature board, Power controller & the fusion brain were also all crushed."

If you would like to read more about this story or have been helped by John in the past and would like to return the favour, you'll find the thread here and his personal website with advertisements here. Good luck with your recovery, John!
